Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Resolve common connection, OAuth, tool, and search problems systematically.
Palim or its tools are missing
- Verify that
https://api.usepalim.com/mcpis entered exactly. - Disconnect the connector and connect it again.
- Complete the browser sign-in flow.
- Start a new chat and ask for
Palim Help. - In ChatGPT, add Palim to the current conversation with
@Palim.
Cursor and other SSE/Streamable HTTP clients do not require an extra config.json beyond their normal MCP configuration.
ChatGPT: Authorization Request Expired
Remove the Palim app and create it again. Select OAuth and disable OIDC enabled in the advanced settings. Complete sign-in without a long interruption, then enable @Palim in the chat.
Authentication failed or invalid API key
- Remove whitespace before or after the key.
- Use the
x-api-keyheader. - Create a new key on the setup page and replace the old one.
- Never paste API keys into chat messages or screenshots.
Perplexity cannot connect
Use the Perplexity Mac app and its advanced configuration. The custom connector in the web interface is currently unreliable.
Search cannot find a known chat
- Use several terms from the content instead of an exact title phrase only.
- Add tags, a project, or tool source to your search.
- For time-based questions, use
palim_search_by_date_range. - Encrypted content uses text matching; semantic embeddings are not available yet.
Get help
Send a short description, client name, timestamp, and visible error message to hello@usepalim.com. Never include API keys, connection URLs, or private chat content.
